| Danka reduces expenses by 30% |
 |
Australia’s largest independent distributor of office equipment, Danka, has selected NSC to upgrade its communications infrastructure. The $500,000 upgrade includes Avaya IP Telephony technology, 370 digital handsets, Avaya call centre software and larger WAN bandwidth. The deployment is predicted to save 30 percent on communications expenses while providing a solid and flexible platform for improved customer service.

Late last year, the Service Providers Association (SPAN) chaired a ground breaking roundtable, sponsored by the NSC Group, discussing the option of hosted services. As a result of this landmark roundtable, which engaged discussion from service providers, carriers, industry analysts and key industry groups, an outcomes paper entitled ‘Challenges and opportunities for carriers and service providers in an IP Centrex environment’ has been made available.

| Victorian Golf Day proves a winner |

The 2005 NSC Victorian golf day at the Commonwealth Golf Course, South Oakleigh was a real hit with a good time had by all. Congratulations to the winning team, comprising Heather Shale (NSC), Dale Ware (Telstra Business Systems), Paul Morton (ANZ) and Paul Harrison (ANZ). We hope they are getting plenty of fun from their new Wilson golf bags courtesy of CIT Finance.

| NSC introduces Huawei to Canberra |
|
NSC Group introduced Chinese based Huawei Technologies to the Canberra marketplace at a launch held at the Hyatt Hotel in Canberra. The auspicious event was attended by Liu Zuozhang, Minister Counsellor (Economic & Commercial) from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Australia, senior executives from Huawei and selected guests from the information communications technology sector.

| Defence gets a look at the future |

NSC Carrier and Lucent Technologies joined forces late last year to host a Lucent Multi-Service Switching Roadshow. The Roadshow travelled from Canberra to Adelaide and showed the Australian Department of Defence and associated organisations how to optimise operational performance and to deliver new and innovative technical solutions based on the R&D from Bell Labs. The Roadshow detailed the Multi-Service Switching Solutions Portfolio, including the PacketStar (PSAX) product range, which enables the delivery of voice, video and data services rapidly over a single, cost-effective edge and access platform.
