The growth in the market and increased adoption of IP Telephony by Australian business and government during the past 12 months saw NSC increase staff numbers by 20 percent. However, the local skills shortage resulted in us casting our net across international waters with new staff members coming from all points of the globe. I am proud to say we have some of the most experienced Avaya specialists on board as I am sure many of you can attest.
Our plans for the new financial year are in place and we are well-positioned to continue to keep pace with market growth. Last year saw our customer base increase by 44% and we expect this trend to continue.
While there have been changes in the local Avaya channel, NSC remains the leading Avaya business partner. We continue to have greater geographic reach, more accredited employees and the largest number of endpoints than any other partner.
The next six months will also see NSC investing heavily in Queensland with the move to new premises, increased marketing and expansion in staff. Additional staff and increased marketing are also on the cards for our WA operation.
The past 12 months has seen an increased focus on our Managed Services business with the addition of five new customers to this rapidly growing area. We will continue to invest in this business and expect to see significant growth over the next 12 months. Our Managed Services manager, Guy Simons provides further insight into our plans in a separate article in this newsletter.
On the home front, our new ERP system goes 'live' this month with the CRM component due to begin implementation shortly thereafter. We believe these new systems will provide a boost to our customer service delivery and trust you will personally benefit from these changes.
I am sure many of you would have read with the interest the announcement of the purchase of Avaya by Silver Lake and TPG. In closing I would like to assure all our customers that it is business as usual at NSC. We will continue to deliver quality Avaya technology combined with our own superior design, implementation and customer service.
