At the recent Business Optimisation Summit hosted by NSC, Wayne Springer from TPG/Soul introduced the new Broadband Ethernet service, called EFM (Ethernet First Mile).
This new service from TPG/Soul, enabled by RAD technology from NSC, is a cost effective symmetrical and uncontended service capable of delivering connectivity speeds of up to 10Mbps.
The network, which is backed up by a national MPLS backbone, provides businesses with superior network performance and reliability. The EFM service makes the carriage of IP Voice, Video, Internet, VPN and applications a reality for thousands of businesses that previously ruled out such technologies due to high bandwidth demands and even higher bandwidth costs. The bandwidth demands remain unchanged, but the costs with EFM are now drastically reduced.
Many businesses will be able to move from an existing 2Mbps service to a 10Mbps service and still achieve a reduced cost of network.
Wayne’s presentation cited the following differentiation points:
- Slash your network connectivity costs by up to 70%
- Boost business application performance and improve response times
- Unlimited and uncontended access tail for use in Private Networks
- Take advantage of IP Video Conferencing and reduce travel expenses while improving communications
- Single Ethernet interface
